If you are reading this, it is likely that you have been struggling for some time or have considered reaching out for support. My role is to listen to those challenges and help you navigate the changes necessary to create a more comfortable and fulfilling daily life. Psychotherapy typically involves weekly one-to-one sessions of about 50 minutes, with the overall duration determined by the client and discussed openly during our work together. I offer a calm, confidential environment where no subject is off-limits, ensuring that what you share remains entirely private. This is different from conversations with family, friends, or other care professionals, as our discussions stay within the therapeutic space, which is entirely yours to use as you wish. My goal is to support your self-understanding and provide a safe space for exploration.
I have been practicing psychotherapy for more than ten years. Before and during my training, I worked as a healthcare professional, gaining extensive experience with illness, injury, and their management in acute settings. I do not limit my practice to specific areas; I am open to discussing whatever matters to you. This may include childhood neglect and trauma, life transitions, psychiatric diagnoses and hospitalisation, anxiety, depression, obsessive thought and behaviour patterns, disordered eating, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, or substance dependency. This list is far from exhaustive, as a qualified psychotherapist can explore a wide range of issues. I also have experience working with clients for whom English is a second language, and I work with individuals aged sixteen and above.
If you are feeling overwhelmed, unable to understand your stress or sadness, or struggling to move forward from past experiences, psychotherapy may be a valuable place to begin.
